Officials with Habitat for Humanity are laying the groundwork for their 10th build in Chatham-Kent.

The organization has begun work on clearing a plot on Main Street in Dresden, with a groundbreaking ceremony set to take place later this month.

Officials say this build represents hope, stability, and a brighter future for a local family.

Habitat’s last home build in Chatham-Kent was in 2024, creating a multi-unit home in Chatham for a pair of families.

Habitat for Humanity helps working, lower-income families achieve their dream of owning a home. To qualify, a family must complete 500 hours of community service. They are also required to pay the mortgage on the home, which is geared to income.
