
The investigation continues into a serious, single-vehicle collision south of Wheatley.
Emergency crews responded to Erie Street South shortly before 4:30 Friday afternoon and say a vehicle struck a berm before becoming airborne and landing on the beach.
The driver, a 57-year-old Wheatley man suffered life-threatening injuries. He was initially taken to Leamington District Memorial Hospital before being transferred to Windsor Regional Hospital for treatment.
Due to the severity of the crash, the Chatham-Kent Traffic Management Unit has taken over the investigation.
