Charges have been laid after a break-up between a local couple turned violent in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a disturbance on Harvey Street at around 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Following an investigation, authorities learned that the relationship between common-law partners had come to an end, which led to an argument. During the incident, a woman pushed her ex-partner and prevented him from leaving the home.
As a result, a 32-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with assault and forcible confinement. She was later released from custody with conditions and a July court date.
