A Chatham man is fighting for his life in hospital following a single-vehicle crash over the weekend.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said emergency crews were called to Centre Side Road at Pioneer Line in Chatham-Kent just before 3 a.m. on Saturday after a driver lost control of their vehicle, causing it to leave the road and enter a ditch.
The driver, a 23-year-old Chatham man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for treatment. He was transferred to Victoria Hospital in London for further medical care.
The intersection of Centre Side Road and Pioneer Line was closed for several hours following the collision to allow the CK police Traffic Management Unit to conduct an investigation. It has since been reopened.
