Chatham-Kent’s hospital is welcoming a Chatham-born physician to its roster.

Dr. Alexandra Ferrara has been hired by the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance to work in the Emergency Department and will be practicing as a family physician with the Thamesview Family Health Team.

Born and raised in Chatham, Dr. Ferrara earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Western University, before completing her Master of Public Health at Brock University and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Limerick in Ireland. She then returned to Chatham-Kent to complete her Family Medicine Residency.

Dr. Ferrara has received the prestigious Leonora Sheppard Award in Family Medicine from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University, as well as the Thamesview Family Health Team’s Barb Lather Education Bursary.

The Chatham native will begin her new positions this month, after supporting patient care within the Hospitalist program at CKHA in August.
