While an official review is still forthcoming, Chatham-Kent has likely re-earned the record for the World’s Largest Caesar Cocktail.
During the fifth annual Crowfest in downtown Chatham on Thursday, organizers poured a massive 1,261.42-litre Caesar at Sons of Kent, surpassing Birmingham’s Pub in Regina, Saskatchewan, with its existing record of 1,050 litres.
In the presence of an adjudicator and two official witnesses who documented the process, 1,095 litres of Clamato juice, 17 litres of Worcestershire sauce, 11 litres of hot sauce, 6 litres of lemon juice, 137 litres of Bootlegger Distillery vodka, and 60 oz of celery salt were combined to create the cocktail.
Guests in attendance then grabbed a glass to toast the newly set record, consuming the entire beverage, which is required with any Guinness World Record attempt involving food or drink.
The video documenting the Caesar will be submitted to Guinness for review and verification, and if all requirements are met, Chatham-Kent will be documented as holding the world record for a second time.
A previous record, 588 litres, was set during the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo, held in Pain Court in 2018.
