A Chatham man will have to answer to a judge in court following a hit-and-run collision near Thamesville.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to Longwoods Road west of Thamesville, at around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday after two vehicles collided near a construction zone.
The driver of one of the vehicles, a 33-year-old Chatham man, got out of his vehicle after the collision and was then struck by the other vehicle before it fled the scene. The man’s injuries were non-life-threatening, and he was not taken to hosptial.
The suspect vehicle was later located at a Thamesville residence, where the driver allegedly failed a sobriety test.
A 43-year-old Chatham man is now charged with dangerous operation, impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. He was later released from custody with a November court date.
