A Dover Township teen is facing charges after allegedly taking a joyride in a stolen vehicle.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a Chrysler 300 was reported stolen from the rear parking lot of a business on James Street in Wallaceburg at around 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
Authorities reviewed surveillance footage of the area and located the vehicle heading north on North Street at around 3:45 p.m.
Officers stopped the vehicle on Pain Court Line near Pain Court about 45 minutes later. The driver was arrested without incident.
As a result, a 17-year-old Dover Township boy has been charged with mischief under $5,000, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of stolen property. He was released into the care of a guardian and will answer the charges in court next month.
