Changes are in the works for the public school system across a large swath of the municipality.

The LKDSB is looking at eventually consolidating Ridgetown and Blenheim into one K-12 school.

LKDSB Superintendent of Education Gary Girardi says that’s a longer term plan with nothing set in stone yet.

“In order for that to go to an ARC it has to be delivered to trustees as a staff report,” says Girardi. “While we’ve put it out there in terms of ‘This is information about where this might be an option’ trustees still have to vote to conduct an ARC in those areas.”

Before that happens accommodation review committees will consider consolidating Sarnia Collegiate Institute & Technical School with St. Clair Secondary School, and closing South Plympton Public School to move students to Wyoming Public School.
