Wallacebug Councillor and former chair of the Sydenham District Hospital Board Jeff Wesley says he has confirmation from the Ontario Fire Marshals’ Office that the hospital in Wallaceburg doesn’t need a sprinkler system.

There had been thoughts that they building would need a retrofit.

Colin Patey is the President and CEO of the CKHA.

“It’s my understanding that that interpretation by fire marshalls across the province has come under review and we await confirmation that that will not be the case come 2025.”

He says it is so far away they never costed it out anyway and are worrying about other issues at the hospital right now.
