The first week of Chatham-Kent municipal budget deliberations is in the books.

Progress has been slow, with no major cuts or additions made to the 2016 draft.

“I don’t know, have we even started yet? I appreciate that we have communities  that we need to speak for and we have to speak to,” says Robertson. “People are passionate with the assets in their community.”

Budget Chair Derek Robertson thinks there has been too much discussion about nothing.

The proposed tax increase sits at 3.44%. Deliberations resume Tuesday.
