The Chatham-Kent public health unit is warning people to take extra precautions outdoors this weekend.

With the mercury set to plummet into the range of -20c overnight, experts want you to be aware of the dangers of frostbite and hypothermia.
Environment Canada’s Etienne Gregoire it is all about the windchill.

“Once that second cold front comes through overnight, the shift of wind goes southwest to northwest up to 40km an hour,” says Gregoire. “The winds really won’t die down much until midday Sunday.

With that kind of wind, the temperature will feel more like -30c.
