Wildcats Win Silver

The Wildcats are; Isabella Bugros, Claire Cox, Sara Turner, Marissa Beselaere, Meghan Malott, Briyah Baylis, Sydney Sheppy, Jillian Vickery, Sofia Butler, Elliot Cowan, Solara Howe, and Melissa Pardy. The team is coached by Charles Peet and Tracey Goosney.

The Chatham-Kent Wildcats Major Atom girl’s are coming home with a silver medal from the MUMBA Basketball Tournament in Markham.

The Wildcats went 3-0 in pool play, beating Brampton, Sudbury and Etobicoke.

In the gold medal game, the Wildcats dropped a heartbreaking 38-37 decision to the much taller Sudbury Jam.

Marissa Beselaere led the team with 13 points, including 2 for 5 from the 3 point line and added 6 steals in the contest. Jillian Vickery continued her strong play at both ends of the court with 11 points and 3 steals. Elliot Cowan was again strong with 13 boards and a team season high 8 assists.
