A Chatham Kent Police officer on patrol yesterday, noticing two individuals in the Park and Princess Street area.
A suspicious hand to hand transaction between the two caught the attention of the officer, and that sparked an investigation.
One man was searched and found to be in possession of a back pack that contained a 9mm hand gun, a sawed off 22 calibre rifle as well as ammunition and marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
A 32 year old Chatham man is now facing a total of 26 weapons related charges, as well as drug charges.
He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
