A coroner’s inquest is about to be launched into the deaths of firefighter Gary Kendall and firefighting student Adam Brunt.
Kendall, a Point Edward native, died Jan 31st 2010 on the St. Clair River during ice/water training when he was lost under the ice.
Brunt died Feb. 8th, 2015 during similar exercises on the Saugeen River in Hanover.
He was a Durham College fire student at the time.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding their deaths and a jury could make recommendations in an attempt to avoid another tragedy.
Dates and locations have yet to be finalized.
