The Lambton-Kent District School Board has approved its 2016-2017 budget.
The board’s final budget sits at just a hair $260-million this year. That’s a decrease of about $2.5-million compared to the 2015-16 school year.
While provincial funding has actually increased on a per pupil basis, enrollment has dropped off, leaving the board with a smaller budget.
Of the total budget, more than $204-million is eaten up by salaries and benefits.
The document was presented and passed at this week’s board meeting in Chatham.
