Lots of Activities Planned for Canada Day

canadadayThere’s a great line-up of activities for Canada Day next week, and it’s going to be a little bit different this year.

With issues surrounding the budget for Canada Day celebrations, the Chatham-Kent Museum,  the Thames Art Gallery, the Chatham Legion Branch 642 and more local organizations and individuals have stepped up to provide Chatham-Kent with lots of activities.

Deanna Provost-Bullard, Chatham-Kent Museum Education Coordinator says that the museum will have some fun crafts for kids.

“In the museum and gallery, we decided to stick with some fun Canadian crafts and they’re geared for the younger children. In the museum, we’re making some Canadian characters. We all know that moose and beavers seem to be that Canadian symbol that’s known around the world, so the kids are going to get to make their own moose and beavers.”

There will also be a parade, fresh brewed iced tea, local historians, and more in Tecumseh Park and the surrounding area. The event begins at 10AM on July 1st, and all activities and admissions are free to the public.
