A celebration is taking place on Walpole Island today to mark National Aboriginal Day. 
This is the 20th annual event, aimed at giving all Canadians a chance to recognize the diverse cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people.
Today’s celebrations locally will be capped off with a fireworks display at High Banks Park at 10 o’clock.
