Walpole Island will have a voice on the Sydenham District Hospital Board.
Rex Isaac is joining the board thanks to a new bylaw introduced at Thursday’s Annual General Meeting, allowing the appointment of a director to represent Walpole Island and other neighbouring communities.
Isaac says there’s a lot of work ahead. “I think the most important thing, the most exciting thing about it is the people I get to work with,” Isaac says. “We have a great team here, the results of the election show that by unanimous support of the Board. I look forward to working with them and making sure we look at a long-term solution to emergency care and the hospital within our community.”
Isaac joins all five of last year’s Board members, who were re-elected.
