It appears that the Municipality of Chatham-Kent won’t be pursuing a blended EMS/Fire service– for now. 
In a report to council, administration is instead recommending extending the contract with Medavie for two years.
The total cost for the contract would be a hair over $21-million through 2018.
That would give administration time to fully negotiate and plan-out a blended service and report back to council before implementation.
