Local resident Ryan Doyle wants to bring his love of the Tragically Hip to everybody in Chatham-Kent this August.
Doyle is organizing a viewing of the Hip’s final concert in Tecumseh Park, and raising money in the process.
“The idea was once I heard CBC was going to be broadcasting it live, I was planning on getting a projector screen, put it in the backyard,” Doyle says. “That turned into well, let’s see. If we do that in Tecumseh Park on a projector screen, we could do a little charity drive and make some money for charity.”
Doyle plans to set up a 24×13 foot LED screen for the show, along with a beer garden with proceeds going to the Chatham-Kent Hospice, the Sunnybrook Foundation and the Knights of Columbus.
Doyle needs to raise at least $20,000 just to cover his costs.
