Local MP Bev Shipley is responding to concerns he’s hearing regarding potential changes to the way Canadians vote.
One of the federal government’s key goals is to reform the electoral process, and while Shipley says he isn’t opposed to the idea in principal, it has created confusion.
“There’s all kinds of proportional representation, votes that happen some of them in Europe, there’s multiple choice,” Shipley says. “What I’m suggesting though is that the Prime Minister is not explaining to Canadians, what does he mean?”
Shipley says any decision needs to go to Canadians to vote on.
