A group of concerned citizens is hoping to keep Bothwell’s arena alive, after talks about it being shut down earlier this year.
Ward 3 Councillor David VanDamme says proposals from the Bothwell Arena Recreation Advisory Committee can benefit all of Chatham-Kent.
“The recommendations they put forward are just better use of ice time,” VanDamme says, “and greater facility accommodation to open it up to other venues than hockey.”
Municipal officials will now review the suggestions to see how easily they can be implemented.
