A Chatham-Kent contingent is in Peru this week, taking in the APEC Leaders’ Summit. 
Mayor Randy Hope says they’re looking to increase the municipality’s profile on the international stage.
“When people found out I was going, I actually received a couple of invitations to meet with some companies,” Hope says. “The goal is to identify and bring to reality how you can do business and what businesses are available in Chatham-Kent. We are a community that has the opportunity to grow substantially without major expenditures.”
Hope is in Peru with Michael Burton, the municipality’s Director of Investment Attraction and Government Affairs, along with some local investors.
Some of the topics economic leaders will be focusing on in Lima include capital development, regional food, and economic integration.
