Chamber President and CEO Gail Hundt says 16-billion dollars in tourism spending has been left on the table since 2006.

“We as a province are not putting our best foot forward and reaching out towards the global market,” Hundt says. “Not unlike other initiatives, maybe we’re not boasting what we do to the utmost of our abilities. There’s considerable export money in the tourism business and we need to reach out, not just as local communities, but as a whole.”

According to the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, tourism supports over 360,000 jobs and generates more than $25 billion in revenue in Ontario.
