Chatham-Kent’s unemployment rate sits at 6.2%
That’s actually lower than the Ontario rate of 6.7%.
Acting Economic Development Director Stuart McFadden says there’s always a little bit of a lag to get the numbers.
McFadden says, “This is the lowest it’s been in a very long time. Percentages are percentages, but what we’re really excited about is the number of people working in Chatham-Kent which is about 50,400.”
McFadden says it isn’t just one sector pulling the weight, it’s job growth across the community.
