The Chatham Goodfellows is heading into the busiest time of year for its volunteers.
Tomorrow marks the deadline for applications for food or toys baskets and Director Tim Mifflin says they expect a big demand.
“It goes up probably 2-3% each year, so last year we provided for 1438 families, and that’s in the former Dover, Harwich, Chatham townships and the city of Chatham,” says Mifflin “And then we partner with the folks in the Merlin Legion to cover Raleigh.”
Meantime the Goodfellows will be holding their porchlight campaign on Monday, going door-to-door collecting donations.
