Municipal officials are planning for the last few weeks of the year when it comes to Chatham-Kent’s snow budget.
Director of Public Works, Miguel Pelletier says financially, the department is in good shape.
“There’s no need for us to ask for more money,” Pelletier says. “I won’t commit that we have too much because there’s still two or three weeks left. Normally a big snow storm, like if we get 20 centimeters, that could cost us around $500,000.”
A system bringing an expected 5-10 centimeters of snow will be moving into the area overnight.
Local snow plow operators got their first test of the season this past Thursday with isolated flurries wreaking havoc in some parts of Chatham-Kent, which Pelletier says they handled quite well.
