An Age-Friendly Committee has been formed, and Director of Public Health Teresa Bendo says they’re looking for half a dozen new members.

“It’s a committee that looks at the Age-Friendly Chatham-Kent Community Action Plan,” Bendo explains, “to implement a number of initiatives that really help build a diverse and inclusive, accessible, and respectful community that enables a kind of independence and healthy lifestyle for all ages.”

Bendo says they’re looking for members who fit each of the municipality’s action plan focal points, including housing, transportation, and civic engagement.

The deadline for applications is Friday, January 6, 2017.

Those interested can submit applications at any Municipal Centre or Municipal Information Desk, by fax at 519.352-2166, or by emailing teresa.bendo@chatham-kent.ca.
