A community blood drive is being held in Dresden later today, and Canadian Blood Services say they need at least 72 donors.
Spokesperson Stephanie Wilkinson says there are many reasons to donate.
“Over 50% of us will require blood at some point in our life or know someone that does,” Wilkinson says. “There’s no substitute for human blood so it’s really dependent on people volunteering their time and coming out to a blood donor clinic and making sure there’s blood on hand for patients in need.”
The clinic runs from 5 until 8 this evening at the Dresden Arena and walk-ins are welcome.
More information about donating can be found on their website at blood.ca.
