Make sure you know your rights before heading to the gym.
If you’re starting the New Year with a gym membership, there are a few rights you have as a consumer.
Within the first 10 days of your membership, you have a right to cancel without providing a reason. All you have to do is give the facility notice, preferably in writing.
You also don’t have to pay annually – you can choose to pay monthly instead. All membership contracts must end after one year.
The gym must send you a notice before your contract ends, including any changes to your new contract.
