Chatham-Kent residents will be able to follow along where ever they are tonight as the municipality’s draft budget is presented to council.
The meeting in Council Chambers will be broadcast live on Facebook through the Chatham-Kent page.
The move is in an effort to allow as many residents as possible the chance to take part in the budget process.
The meeting will also be broadcast live on Cogeco TV.
Meantime, officials say they’re quite pleased with the public input so far in the budget process, with several hundred residents making use of the online Citizen Budget Tool to outline their priorities.
A series of public meetings are also being held next week to garner more information.
An open house is being held Tuesday at the Brunner Centre in Thamesville and Ryder Hall in Tilbury.
Meetings on Wednesday will take place at the Blenheim high school and Wallaceburg municipal office, and on Thursday at Chatham’s Active Lifestyle Centre.
All of the open houses run from 4:30-6:30pm.
Council will begin deliberating and making cuts to the fiscal plan on February first.
