Wallaceburg will host a trio of farmers’ markets this summer after an overwhelming response to a survey released last month.
Karen Moran from the Wallaceburg BIA says that they’ll start slowly this summer.
“We’ve strategically chosen the dates to tie in with other events that are happening in town,” Moran says. “The logic there was that people would be staying in town anyway and more likely to visit the market.”
The markets will be held June 3rd, tying in with the Dragon Boat Festival; July 15th to coincide with WallyFest, and September 23rd for PumpkinFest.
All three will be held in the parking lot on James Street in Wallaceburg.
If the markets do well this summer, the BIA plans to hold them more regularly in the summer of 2018.
