McNaughton Weighs in on Well Issues

Monte McNaughton is calling on the provincial government to take local residents’ concerns over water well safety seriously. mar14monte

The Lambton-Kent Middlesex MPP says he’s not sure what it’s going to take to make people in Toronto understand the severity of the issue.

“I’ve met with the Minister of Energy personally, we’ve asked questions during question period, we’ve presented petitions to raise the well water concerns with the provincial government,” the Conservative MPP says. “I think we need to work together and send a busload of people to Queens Park to meet with Liberal MPPs and Liberal cabinet ministers and send a message to them that well water is a huge concern out here.”

McNaughton says the first thing the government needs to do is stop any further wind turbine construction until it can be proven that turbines aren’t having a negative effect on well water.
