Provincial funding is changing the way Ontario Early Years Child and Family Centres programs will be delivered in Chatham-Kent.
Starting next January, the Ontario government will provide full funding for Early Years programs and services, which will then be delivered by the municipality.
The program was initially launched in 2003, with Chatham-Kent Integrated Children’s Services selected as the lead agency.
Over $87,000 is being allocated to the municipality this year to help with the associated costs, including community consolations and planning.
A community service needs and consultation review needs to be completed and submitted to the Ministry by the end of May.
