Chatham-Kent is partnering with Entegrus and TekSavvy to the tune of up $6.5-million to bring fiber internet to CK.

Mayor Randy Hope says it’s part of an application to the federal government’s Connect to Innovate program.

“It gives the argument both from the federal and provincial perspective that rural Ontario is important,” Hope says. “It’s important to be connected, it’s important for our growth, and it’s important for our education and opportunities that exist.”

The total estimated cost to bring high speed to the entire municipality is more than $210-million.
