Gravel Concerns

The Municipality is spending an extra $80,000 on gravel this year to resurface 20km of rural roads. civic-centre-chatham-768x576

Of the several different types of gravel, one is recycled from old railways.

However, Wallaceburg Councillor Carmen McGregor has some concerns, and says the recycled gravel creates a thick mud when wet, which can make it difficult to drive on.

She’s asked for a report to come back to Council on the characteristics of the different types of gravel used on Chatham-Kent roads.
