McNaughton Continues to Push Water Concerns

One day after taking the Minister of Energy to task over contaminated wells in Chatham-Kent, Monte McNaughton is continuing to hammer away at the Liberals over wind turbines in the area.

Yesterday, the Conservative MPP hand-delivered a baby bottle filled with murky, sediment-filled water to Environment Minister Chris Ballard in the legislature.

In a letter to Ballard and the Minister of Health and Long Term Care, McNaughton says until acceptable answers can be found on why wells are going bad near wind farm construction sites, all work on both the North Kent and Otter Creek projects should be stopped immediately.

McNaughton is also calling on the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to offer testing that includes heavy metals that might have been released from the Kettle Pint Black Shale in the aquifer.
