Union Gas Parking Supports the United Way

Union Gas is continuing its support for the United Way, donating $5,000 to the organization’s endowment fund.

The money comes from a parking arrangement between Union Gas and Brad-Lea Meadows during construction of the utility’s new powerhouse at the corner of Keil and Grand in Chatham.

“At Union Gas we are proud of being active members in the communities we serve and working with our community partners to help improve the lives of individuals and families,” said Darryl Stokes, manager, Corporate Real Estate Services, Union Gas. “We are very pleased to donate to the United Way Endowment Fund on behalf of Brad-Lea Meadows, to assist with the ongoing efforts of the Chatham-Kent Community Foundation managed fund.”

The endowment fund, essentially the United Way’s savings account, is managed by the Chatham-Kent Community Foundation.

Donations remain in perpetuity, and the interest earned is then allocated to specific programs and services as directed by the donor.
