A Wallaceburg woman facing some hard times is getting some unexpected help.
After reading an article on 98-year-old Mary Doherty’s struggles, Candice Emery decided she needed to do something to help, and started up a GoFundMe account.
“I read the article and it broke my heart so I ran to the computer and started a go fund me page,” says Emery. “(My goal is) For her to have a wonderful christmas and not have to worry about bills or anything financially.”
While Emery and Doherty have never met, Emery says she’ll find a way to track the woman down to ensure she has whatever money is raised in time for Christmas.
