Home sales in Chatham-Kent are cooling off, along with the temperature.
According to the Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors, 66 homes traded hands in December, that’s an 18.5% drop from the same time a year earlier.
Officials say 2017 was the second-best year on record for home sales in the region, with 1443 properties sold last year, down just 1.6% from the year previous.
Steve Carroll, Association president, says there is more competition among buyers and prices posted a double-digit gain over the last 12 months.
