Water Wells First is one step closer to getting a Health Hazard Investigation done in north Kent.
Last Thursday, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change accepted the group’s test results showing the presence of black shale in the well water of several area wells.
Spokesperson Kevin Jakubec says the issue is now in the hands of the Premier.
“The question now is what will the Ontario government do now that it has those findings in hand,” Jakubec says. “There is now evidence sent to the Ministry of Environment, that information is available to Premier Wynne.”
Jakubec says knowing there is black shale in some homeowners’ wells, the Premier will be forced to launch a Health Hazards Investigation.
Water Wells First says just this past weekend, four more homes in the North Kent area have been added to the list of those dealing with contamination in their well water.
