A new scholarship is encouraging volunteerism in Wallaceburg.
The WAMBO organizing committee is offering a pair of $1500 bursaries for graduating students at WDSS.
Treasurer Paul Dineno says winners will then have some work to do over the summer, serving as WAMBO Ambassadors.
“They’re promoting WAMBO for us and they’ll be around during the event and we’re calling on them when they are available to participate in other promotional activities for WAMBO and elsewhere in the community.”
In order to qualify, graduating students must be heading into post-secondary school or an apprenticeship, and submit an essay on why volunteering is important to the community.
Applications can be found on the WAMBO website or from a WDSS guidance counsellor.
