Mischief charges have been laid against a Chatham man after an attempted theft at Walmart.
Chatham-Kent Police say the 24-year-old was spotted trying to break into a laptop display case at the St Clair Street Store yesterday afternoon.
Thanks to descriptions of the man and his vehicle given the police, the accused was found at another nearby store and arrested.
Meantime police are also investigating after a pair of retail break-ins earlier in the weekend.
Sunday morning, someone smashed a glass door at Sterling Variety on Park Street in Chatham, getting away with some scratch tickets.
And on Saturday, thieves forced their way into the Downtown Chatham Centre, stealing some power cords from the Virgin Mobile Phone kiosk.
