If there was ever any doubt how important the Greater Toronto Area is to our 3 main political parties in this province, that should be put to rest Monday night. The leaders will gather in Toronto for a televised debate 2 days before the election campaign officially gets underway, and they will talk only about Toronto issues. NDP leader Andrea Horwath, newly minted Progressive Conservative leader Doug Ford and Liberal leader Premier Kathleen Wynne will focus only on the GTA, something they will deny doing once they are in the rural areas like South Western Ontario. The 2 hour debate begins at 6pm. Election day is June 7th.
