A Tecumseh-based vegetable producer is growing.

Bonduelle Canada is on the receiving end of up to 8.5 million dollars from the province to upgrade the company’s facilities in Tecumseh, Ingersoll, and Strathroy.

According to a news release, the funding will allow the company to adopt new technology to put new frozen vegetable products and packaging formats on the domestic and export markets, increase productivity, enhance food safety and increase exports.

The near $80-million project is expected to create 87 new jobs and retain more than 700.
