Chatham’s Andy Fantuz has officially announced his retirement from the Canadian Football League today.

The 34 year old was not playing this year after suffering a serious knee injury last year.

Fantuz played 12 seasons in the league in Saskatchewan and Hamilton and put up some huge numbers.

He is ranked 9th all time among Canadians in receptions with 637, and receiving yards with 8,363.

He played in 5 Grey Cups, and won a ring.

He was named the outstanding Canadian in the 2010 game.

In a statement he thanked all of his fans for their support over the years.
