Changes are being made to garbage collection in downtown Wallaceburg this week – again.
Because of the Civic Holiday, collections across Chatham-Kent have been delayed a day this week, meaning garbage and recycling in the downtown core would be put out Saturday morning.
But with the car cruise Friday evening and events along James Street on Saturday, that could cause issues for area businesses.
Following discussions with the BIA and Waste Connections staff, the municipality has agreed an exception will be made for the downtown core.
Garbage and recycling pickups will take place as normally scheduled on Friday along James Street to ensure the area is cleaned up before WAMBO kicks off Friday evening.
Officials with the BIA will be contacting affected businesses to make sure everyone is up to date.
