It’s not like it’s the end of the world or anything, but the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit tells us there has been a positive test for the West Nile Virus in Wallaceburg.
It was found in a collection of mosquitoes taken a couple of weeks ago.
Kurt Clemens, a Public Health Inspector says we should be aware of the symptoms like a stiff neck, nausea, or difficulty swallowing. But, he adds in a lot of cases, people don’t show any signs of the disease at all
Clemens says the threat remains until the end of mosquito season and that’s probably a couple of months away.
