What a difference a day makes. Just ask Lucas Chambers, Chatham-Kent’s Elections Coordinator.
The municipality mailed out voter information cards last week, but some residents noticed something was off. By a day.
The cards listed the online voting period as running from Tuesday, October first to Monday, October 14th. However the first is actually a Monday, and the 14th is a Sunday, not a Monday.
“In order to accommodate the worst case scenarios where any way it might have been interpreted, we’ve extended the internet voting date to the 15th, which is the Monday listed,” Chambers explains. “They will run October 1st at 10am until October 15th at 10pm.”
Advance polls will be held October 11th to the 13th.
Election Day is still October 22nd. That’s a Monday.
